Techniques when filming at night

We watched a tutorial on ways we can use light effectively when filming at night as our music video will be filmed at night and in a dark setting.

From watching this video we have learnt that to get the best effect with the light we need a very bright source and cover it to make it less harsh. The positioning of the light needs to be front on around the eye lid level in order to get good shadows and a rim line. As well as using a portable light source we will also make the most of the lighting that is already present, for example street lights and shops.

We also have the idea of using a cars headlights behind the artist to give the video a professional outlook.
