The videos work because they are different, you have never seen anything like it before and that makes you more interested into the video and they get people taking about it. This means that the video is advertised through word of mouth.
What Techniques do they use?
In the video Mint Julep- To The Sea they use poor mans 3D, they do this by filming with one camera and at the same time filming with another slightly to the side of it.
In the video Is Tropical- The Greeks they use CGI to make it look like the children have real weapons, however the graphic scenes are clearly very cartoon like, this means it is not as shocking but still a very interesting video.
Is there anything we would use in our video?
I feel that the techniques in the videos are to alternative for our video as we are going to stick to the codes and conventions of an RnB music video therefore none of these would fit our video, however they are very good and would suit an Indie-pop song.
